From a collection of thousands of images, the 'Derek Tait Picture Collection' is the largest viewable online collection of photos of historical Plymouth. Images include buildings, entertainment, people, transport, celebrations, the war etc.
The collection online continues to grow and eventually will consist of over ten thousand images.
The collection provides an invaluable resource to researchers and to anyone interested in local history.

I am very interested in local history and have written several books including, 'Images of Plymouth', 'Plymouth at War', 'Saltash Passage', 'St Budeaux', 'Plymouth Hoe', 'Saltash' , 'Mount Edgcumbe', 'Memories of St Budeaux', 'Plymouth Tales From the Past'. 'Plymouth Through Time', 'Saltash Through Time', and 'Rame Peninsula Through Time'.
I've also written four books about my experiences living in Singapore and Malaya during the 1960s.

They have also been used by BBC Southwest on Spotlight and on their programme, 'Inside Out' and are due to be used on the Plymouth version of Monopoly.
