Will never be an artist but photography has allowed me to indulge and engage my visual side for the first time in perhaps 40 years!

Things that move me include railings, dark pics and the odd bokeh'd flower and tree or two. Things that move however remain on my 'to-do' list for the moment..... as do portraiture.

I'm not a great fan of HDR or some of the more extreme post processing which seems to be popular recently. Not really tried much with added textures but may give it a go.

I love FlickR and probably spend too much time browsing its very many wonders.

I recently set up my first Flickr Group which features pictures from the villages of Sand Hutton and Claxton (where I live).

I use a Nikon D700 with a variety of Nikon / Nikkor Lenses. Not a fan of flash photography.

I'm slowly learning the possibilities with Aperture 3 but in general like to get things as close a possible in camera with the odd tweak. seeing something pop up straight on import is the greatest pleasure.

Oh, and i am colourblind for which i apologise in advance if you see anything unnatural or wierd.
