I like pictures and pie and kitty cats and computers. I like beer with occasional boxing. I like people with something to say.

I used to shoot with a Canon Rebel XT, but it stopped working (something about a dislike of water), and now I'm reduced to shooting with a Canon Powershot S5 IS. It's not actually a bad camera, but it's not my Rebel XT. Still, I'm not buying another DSLR until there's a Canon I can afford that shoots 720p, so for the moment, the S5 is where it's at. I am slowly learning to get better pictures out of it, although a search by camera on Flickr shows me I have a looooooooong way to go.

I actually do like photography, and care about my pictures, but I use this account to show as much as I can about the places I visit, and to make basically every semi-decent snapshot I take available to me wherever I go. As a result, it contains way too many pictures in general, and way too many pics that frankly aren't that great. If I have a shot that's not that great, but captures a subject I want to show, it will probably make it in.

I recently moved to San Jose, in Northern California, so most of my pictures recently are of the places I've visited since moving here, mostly parks.

I'm working on photo essays of City of Austin parks, chiefly Barton Creek Greenbelt, Town Lake, and Zilker. At least, I was, but since I recently moved to California, I guess I'd better get to editing together what I've got.

I also do some urban life and architecture shots, a little macro work...I dabble. I don't really do people much.

I like to take pictures of my cats and squirrels and pretty much any animal I see.
