Hi all,
I am the original Delboy, also know as Derek. I am retired and into my early seventies.
I live in the Costa Del Clacton, on the east coast of England.
Only really took an interest in photography since I retired, and started to venture further afield, than the shores of this Island.
I talk on 4 cruise forums, of which there is a specific interest in the places I have visited and ships I have cruised on.
As a result at the time of writing, I have had nearly 31,000 visits to my account, with in excess of 500,000 total views. The most views in a day being on the 18th Feb 2011, 4,600.
Living by the sea, I also have a general interest in boats and ships of all kinds.
I started out with a Panasonic, point/shoot model TZ5 for a holiday, and have since purchased a Panasonic Bridge camera, the Panasonic FZ 38, mainly because it affords me the extra zoom, without the need for additional lenses, it also allows me to experiment with manual controls, something I have not been use to before.
Re the finer points of photography, I am on a very slow learning curve, my memory not being as good as it used to be, but I do try.
I look forward to sharing photo's and joining in discussions with others on this site. I welcome any constructive comments re my photo's, as I feel this helps me to learn.
