  Uma pessoa cheia de vida, divertida, falante e de uma alegria contagiante.
  Impossível ficar perto dela e não sentir toda aquela boa energia.

  "I have only known Déia for a very short time. However, over this short time, we have become friends: She is thoughtful, respectful, and giving.
  
  I have come to respect her style of photography very much. One of the reasons I love her style is because it is so different from my own.
  
  Déia's approach to photograph constructions and photographs with text is very creative and fresh. I like it a lot.
  
  Her native language is Portuguese, and mine is English. The text she uses most of the time is in her native language; however, the difficulties I have with understanding Portuguese does not detract from my appreciation of her photographs. If I can, I use an online translator to try to figure out the messages. Nevertheless, I concentrate on the expressions on the face, or the body language she incorporates in her photographs, to understand the photographs at the "root level". Language is NOT a barrier to understanding and appreciating the visual arts!
  
  One thing that I have noticed, is that some people have a skill for taking self-portraits, and I can say with confidence that Déia is the perfect model: She captures herself with the camera with considerable skill. She seems just as comfortable taking photographs, as well as, having her picture taken. This is something that not everyone can claim.
  
  I have never written a "testimonial" for anyone here at Flickr...that is a fact: Déia is the first. I am writing this statement because I want to: I feel it is important to play that docent role sometimes and observe, deduce and comment on other photographer's work at a deeper level. This is an important aspect of the photographic arts. It is also important, in this now very saturated and competitive business known as Photography, to not only improve ourselves, but also to encourage each other to improve and move forward.
