DeePee64 ~ Struggling to get back in the groove!'s photostream  

ABOUT ME
Now retired from paid employment which gives me more time to look but perhaps more importantly, to see our wonderful world and to try and capture some of it for future generations.

MY GEAR
Currently consists of an Olympus Evolt 520 DSLR with 4 zoom lenses; 14-42mm, 40-150mm, 70-300mm & 35mm macro. Also use a great little Olympus mju digital stylus 800 when I can't be bothered to lug all the other gear around!!

MY PHOTOGRAPHY
I don't focus [no pun intended!!] on any particular type of subject matter. Truth is I photograph whatever happens to take my fancy at the time which personally, I find much more exciting and rewarding than specialising in one particular area of expertise. Danger is of course that I become a "Jack of all trades, Master of none" but at present I'm prepared to take that risk. Life is much too short to get precious about things even though I might have thought differently in the past.

I always try to come up with a title for my photos together with a description. Many of these are intended to be more than a little tongue-in-cheek and, in my own way, amusing and will almost certainly be symbolised by exclamation marks [!!!] and/or smilies [ :>) ]. I mention this because I would not want anyone to be offended by my choice of words which, given the vast array of different languages & their translations and without any facial expressions, could easily be misinterpreted here in Flickrland. Smiling is always good and I wish I did it more often but I can [& do] laugh at myself and my many camera related misfortunes which I may on occasions wish to share with you. Please take such comments in the spirit of fun in which they are written; no ill will is intended.

VIEWING AND COMMENTING
I do so appreciate anyone who views and comments on my images but life in Flickrland can be very time consuming and whilst I would love to look & comment on all images, it just isn't a viable option. I do, out of necessity and my own sanity, limit the number of contacts I have and will always try to view and comment on their images. I will almost certainly view most of the images in the groups to which I belong but please do not be offended if I don't comment on yours as the reason for not doing so will almost certainly be due to time constraints.

BLOCK LIST: I very much regret having to use this facility and also say that this list grows ever larger day by day. Interestingly I generally only have cause to instigate this blocking on images of my wife who as a semi-professional model has no interest in crude comments or collectors and neither do I. I doubt that those who need to be blocked will ever be the ones to read this but I will say it anyway. Flickr is a photo & video SHARING site; if you have nothing to show or share [or just an odd image to cover yourself] then please do not bother to comment or favourite any of my images. I immediately block such people without any further correspondence. Such a shame there is a need for such action.

Thank you to everyone for the inspiration and encouragement you give me to try to improve my efforts in this wonderful world of photography. I have learnt so much already. :>)
