My hometown, Houma, Louisiana, is about 60 miles (100km) southeast of New Orleans, and is in the heart of Cajun Country. Houma is known as a hub for the oil industry (as Houma is very near the Gulf of Mexico) but is also becoming known as a medical center.

I am a 40-something Cajun, and I love collecting postcards, postage stamps and things with postage stamps printed on them. (And most especially postcards with postage stamps as their picture!) My favorite postcards are ones with maps of the state/region, info on the state/region (like state flower, state bird), and funny postcards. You can find me on facebook by looking up DeeDeeQ5724.
