I've been an artist for as long as I can remember - even as a child. I'm a perfectionist which I think can be a curse and a blessing- but when it comes to being a designer, I think it can only help and not hinder you as meticulous workmanship is something of the utmost importance to me. I have a degree in Fine Arts and was originally trained as a silkscreen artist but years later became fascinated with beads after meeting my husband who is a world renowned gemologist. I started my first company ( Beadles ) back in 1982 and was fortunate enough to be featured in a number of the Smithsonian museum mail order catalogs and their museum gift shops ,the Chicago Art Museum shop and catalog, upscale dept. stores and art galleries. Beadles is a collection of hand knotted beaded necklaces and earrings incorporating vintage beads into each design.
Three Ring Circuits - my funky geekery line - was launched in 1992 when I first saw the inner workings of a computer and became fascinated with the intricate beauty of circuit boards. This line has also been sold in a number of museum shops including the Smithsonian's Air and Space Museum shop and more recently the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry. I use only recycled circuit boards and other found objects that would otherwise be thrown away or end up in a landfill ! I also have my own website www.debbyarem.com.
You can find out more about my background on my About page.
I discovered Etsy in the fall of 2008 and can't imagine my life without it now - I think it's the next best thing since dark chocolate! My Etsy store is www.debbyaremdesigns.etsy.com where I sell items made from recycled circuit boards - jewelry, green office products, clocks, magnets, lightswitch plates ,sun catchers, picture frames and more. In the fall
of 2008 we introduced pencil boxes made from recycled circuit boards and we can hardly keep them in stock.
I also opened a second Etsy shop www.EurekaEureka.etsy.com where I sell rare vintage beads that I purchased during the 1970's- 1980's when I traveled to Europe and Asia for my own jewelry design business.
I have also opened a third Etsy shop ForeverInStyle.etsy.com where I sell my own beaded jewelry using mostly vintage beads from the 1940's - 1980's. In my shop I have hand knotted beaded necklaces, beaded earrings, and bead bracelets.
Custom orders are always welcome.
I belong to the EcoEtsy street team, EtsyVintage street team, and Etsycrest street team.
