I got my first camera in 1985 or so, a Fujica 35mm fully manual piece of work that I purchased second hand for $110. I put a helluva lot of film through that thing and loved it. Only ever had one lens, too. Eventually upgraded to a Nikon fm2n and a handful of prime lenses, all second hand.

Jumped on the digital bandwagon earlier than many with a 1 megapixel Kodak point-and-shoot. Wasn't really thrilled with the quality but the convenience was awesome. Ran through a host of other digital cameras -- Kodak, Canon, Nikon, etc -- until finally stepping up and getting my first Digital SLR -- Nikon D70s.

My current cameras are the D80 and a Nikon Coolpix P5000. Both of these cameras have finally brought me back to the point where photography feels like it did with my old manual film cameras. Finally, some 10 years later, the quality is catching up with the convenience. Exciting times.
