As an avid canoeist I have a unique perspective on the world. While paddling my eye level is about three feet above the water so I see things differently, like the beauty under a pier or the silhouette of reeds near the shore at sunset. I'm fascinated with reflections and how light plays on water. I have just started (July 2011) stand up paddling (on a SUP board) and my perspective on the water has changed with the added height. Off the water, my interests also include travel, nature, and of course, landscape photography.

Photography has always been a passion and now that I'm on Flickr, an obsession! I use a Pentax Optio W90 for the wet stuff and a Canon Digital Rebel XTi and 50D for the rest (10-22USM, 24-105 EF IS, EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM, EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II). Canon Powershot G10/12 (with wide angle and tele-lens converters) comes in handy when I don't want to lug the DSLR. My New Canon G12 has in-camera HDR, a new feature that I'm beginning to explore. I don't do much post- processing, preferring to present the image as close to how I, or the camera, sees it. I will post the occasional video that complements the photography. This is either from the Canon G12 or GoPro Hero cameras.

A word about contacts: Because I like to visit all my contact's photostreams and in most cases give feedback. I restrict my contact list to about 100 as I feel any more would be unmanageable, timewise. That 100 often changes if I detect no lifesigns or feedback from particular contacts. If I remove you, please dont take offence but flickr is a two way experience!
