I 'm an amateur photographer and totally self taught. When I was nine years old I got my first camera, a Kodak Instamatic, in the days when it cost a fortune to get your film developed at the chemist! I have always been interested in photography, and have boxes of snaps, taken with various film cameras.

I came to digital photography in 2008, when my husband bought me my first digital camera, my trusty Lumix compact. I discovered flickr in 2009, via submitting photos to a flickr group for my local newspaper, and quickly became a flickr addict. I enjoy being able to instantly share photo's both locally and across the globe.

I have recently taken the plunge and bought a DSLR, and am slowly finding my way around it. My favourite subjects are the seaside and coast (there are plenty of photo opportunites here in Bournemouth and the surrounding area), the Dorset countryside and local people, places, weather and events, I'm a bit of a jack of all trades!

My aim was originally just to take better photographs, and I am slowly learning and hopefully improving. The main thing for me that I enjoy photography, and take interesting pictures.
