Professional Photographer and Digital Imager for almost half a century, convention speaker and mentor. David Simm specialises inmulti cultural weddings, portraits and commercial photography.
It is almost fifty years since I first took up a camera to earn my living and in the time that followed I have seen and been involved in many of the changes that have shaped our industry.
From the pioneering of colour wedding photography in the 1960s to the inauguration of one of Britain's leading professional magazines, designing an automated photo printer and influencing Saudi Arabia's premier portrait studio, I have had a varied and colourful career and latterly I was the first photographer in USA with Italian wedding albums and one of the pioneers of digital designer albums.
Our industry is so much more exciting today that when I first started out and even though many of my contemporaries are now retired, I have no intention in the near future to even consider missing out on the fantastic developments that take place daily through digital imaging.
