If you couldn't tell already my focus is on nature photography. The vast majority of my shots are taken in New Jersey (USA) as I am born and raised here... not to mention the fact that I haven't been traveling lately!

I've always loved all animals for as long as I remember so it's very natural for me to photograph them now. I owe a lot of my wildlife and photography knowledge to all of the friendly people I've met in the field throughout the past few years. Full-sized originals of many of my recent photographs are available for licensing or purchase on my smugmug site. My Flickr uploads are downsized to 800 pixels and slightly reduced in quality. For other sales and licensing inquiries please contact me at daveblinder{@}yahoo.com

Unless noted, all of my wildlife photos are taken out in the field. I don't use baiting or electronic calls... just dumb luck :)

"I always look forward to seeing what “The King of Spades” will do next and I always hope to see that familiar icon when I go to recent activity on my stream. I care what Dave thinks about my shots. Dave’s bird shots are always sharp and well composed. But another fun thing about having Dave as a friend here are the shots he takes of things that surprise me and the humorous remarks that often go with them. Thanks Dave."

    "Dave,

I have only been able to look at a small portion of what you have here. I think that every shot is just amazing. I am starting out with my first dSLR and your photos inspire me to learn more and carry my camera everywhere. Looking at the photo info, I clearly see that I am out-gunned (your 500mm vs my beginner 200mm) but I try to see how you are capturing your shots. It is refreshing to know that there is such variety of nature here in NJ to shoot. Any feedback on how to you took a particular picture, or criticism on anything I post, would be very welcomed. I love to hear why someone doesn't like a picture of mine, cause I think that if I like something then everyone else will see it that way too.

Just wanted to let you know that your post have inspired me greatly and why I added you as a contact, you can delete this after you read it.

    Thank You,

    -Adam

"Dave and I have shared an interest in wildlife photography for quite a while now. Dave is always eager to provide helpful advice that he has gleaned from all his time spent out in the field. I'm always keenly interested in Dave's insight as he is a very talented photographer and continually applies new techniques to his work (which is outstanding).

His captures of birds and other wildlife display a mastery of technique and equipment rarely seen on flickr. His work is an inspiration to many and I always enjoy seeing what his latest adventure has rendered. Thanks for sharing your wonderful talents Dave and I look forward to seeing more in the future."

"A person with a sincere love of birds and wildlife and even a greater determination to capture them on film. A person with a true knack of attracting birds and saving the moment in time. A person destine to be a true champion of pishing (which might just be an Olympic sport in 2112, London.

Edit 12-19-08: Dave, you really are an outstanding Nature photographer. Your eye and knack for the entire field is astonishing. Time to take it to the next level buddy."
