Watch the news reports of any natural disaster, and chances are you'll see someone on camera lamenting their loss. It's not the loss of furniture, the TV or their golf clubs that they're heartbroken over, it's the loss of family photos, sometimes several generations worth.

This Flickr account is an insurance policy against that fate. While most of the family photos that are scanned and uploaded here will be private (the whole world doesn't really need to see me as a 3-year-old with cupcake frosting on my face), there will be plenty of publicly-viewable fare released under a Creative Commons license.
