  "I met David on October 17, 2011, after noticing, at a downtown Phoenix eatery that he was reading "Hyperspace" by Michio Kaku. In no time we were talking cosmology, religion/atheism/spirituality, fate/coincidence, politics, medicine, space migration, biology, human evolution, cosmological evolution, computer evolution, technology and art. The conversation had no discernible seams where either of us appeared to change the subject, and David led me finally to understand that these topics all are different sides of the same subject.
  
  I was impressed by David's intelligence, the scope of his store of knowledge and his eagerness to learn more - to understand, it seems, all that he will be able to put together in his remaining decades (or, perhaps - as he and I discussed - centuries). Upon returning home after a two-plus hour chat, I tuned into David's Flickrstream and was awed by the amazing level of talent I found on display there.
  
  I am certain that with talent like David's, and with his strong drive for ever more enlightenment, he will be able to ride life to wherever he wants it to take him. I am going to keep a close eye on this artist so that I will someday be able to dine out on the story of how I met the famous and amazing david bessent when he still was but a young whipper-snapper in Phoenix churning out masterpieces as fast as most people generate text messages."
