I'm a 50ish bloke living near Durham with a passion for life long learning, cats, edwardian and victorian architecture, stained glass especially late Victorian and Arts and Crafts, all kinds of music including prog, metal, classical from the 1100's to the present day, I play the pipe organ (St Chad's in Bensham, Gateshead), and for most of my life I've carried a camera around mainly to capture a historical record of the ordinary that through time becomes elusive.

I'm particularly interested in the way our surroundings change radically under our noses in a comparatively short time due to movement in industry, markets and lifestyles: hence piecing together the past from old photos is an attraction.

And - secretive grey face people - if you want to be taken seriously as part of the community then get yourself a buddy icon and put some photos up for us to see. If you contact me and I get the message "blahblah doesn't have anything available to you" I will most likely ignore you as clearly you can't be bothered to share anything with the rest of us.
