Dave Macintosh's photostream
|
I live and work in New York City, and much of my photography features its people, architecture, and character as the primary subjects.
For me, photography is fundamentally about capturing moments in time. Shadows and light merge in a certain way for only an instant, either to be captured by the camera or lost forever.

"Others might look at a building and see a building. But Dave gives them a soul and spirt of their own.
He has a unique, sensitive and keen eye. And his NYC street photos are always filled with wit, charm, passion and great heart. It's not often that a photographer will come along and consistently make me feel something when I look at their work. But Dave has that special quality."6th August, 2005

photojunkie says:
"I am fairly new to David's work, but have been following it religiously for a couple of weeks now. I knew immediately that he would be one of my favorites. He has an amazing eye for details which he translates into these stunning black and white images.
He creates an intimacy between the viewer and the images which is suprising considering his main subect matter is the bustling fast paced New York City."26th July, 2005

"i have been inspired and impressed with dave's photographs and obvious creative ability and talent since i first discovered his photostream weeks ago.
dave captures the buildings, architecture and people of new york city with an incredible eye and keen understanding of light and shadow, form and texture, lines and edges. and his arresting photographs are only matched by the sharp insight and observations he brings to the comments he makes on the work of others.
i have to wonder what creative explorations and challenges he will present to us when he finally discovers the wonder of colored film..."11th July, 2005
