Hi there, My name is Daryl Chapman, I'm from Aylesbury in the UK and lived in Aylesbury from 1972 to 1987, I think I lleft the UK a few days before or after my birthday so I spent 15 years in the UK. Since 1987 I have been here in Hong Kong a cit that can only be described as amazing, if not sometimes a little crazy. As a kid in the UK I loved plane spotting and then train spotting .. however when I moved to Hong Kong that stopped as the trains here are somewhat boring!

About 1992 one boring day at home I found my old spotting book and binoculars and thought why not and headed off to Kai Tak airport for a look.... I think I was there almost every free weekend till the day it closed in July 1998. This explains why I have so many photos from Kai Tak airport and a few that are now quite well known!

I've used the big aviation sites like Airliners.net and jetphotos.net, I've even had the highest average views..... but I just got sick of the screening and the fact that no human can few the same thing as another... so you never have any system to the screening. These days they let a computer tell them if the colours are ok and not their eyes.... so no improvement there.... anyway happily I found FLICKR!!! ... and the rest as they say is History :)

After so many years of planes, dealing with the hazy weather and the often dull traffic at the the "new" airport here in Hong Kong I have lost much of my interest and moved on to cars! Cars are something very easy to photograph here in Hong Kong as there are simply so many nice cars here. Prize of my collection includes the Porsche 959, Ferrari F40, Gumpert Apollo, Pagani Zonda F and Cinque and the Aston Martin ONE-77 that I was lucky enough to be invited to photograph.

Photos here on flickr include old scans from print, pics from my old 350D, that was replaced by the 400D.. which in turn was replaced by the 40D. Now, since December 2009 I've been using the amazing 7D.

My goal is not like some here to get loads of comments, my goal is for you to like my photos.... I know you are when I see the views, yes a comment is nice but please just look at my photos, that's what makes me happy and makes me want to upload more for you to see.

Note I am NOT a fan of the Add one, comment on 3 types of groups so please don't ask me to join. I will comment on photos I like, not photos I HAVE to comment on.... same for you, you should not comment on my photos because you have to.

"I dont know Daryl personally, only through a mutual love of aviation photography and the way we share the same opinion regarding judgement when it comes to "commonly know aviation websites".

Daryl has a talent, with impressive images in aviation, automotive and general photography. An eye for an angle, composition and detail. His images are always punchy, sharp and interesting.

Keep up the good work DC, I always look at your daily uploads.
A day wouldnt be complete without them"

"Daryl deserves this testimonial for his great passion and time he has put into his photography. All his photos are fantastic examples of his passion. Daryl's photography spans from aviation, cars, marine, nature, buildings and many more. Not only does Daryl spend time on his own photography but he is also a great teacher and willing to share his tips on how to take the best photo. Daryl is always eager to give new techniques, locations and increase his depth in photography by taking photos of different things. Daryl also is constantly looking for the more interesting shot, never just the standard view which just shows how passionate he is and it is evident in his photos. Moreover, I think that Daryl will continue to show his passion with every photo he will take and share with us.

I, personally would like to thank Daryl for his time he has spent with me to help improve my photography skills.

I hope Daryl continues to share his great work on Flickr and can't wait to see what new and exciting photos will be next!"
