The Cuban dance troupe, Danza Voluminosa, directed by Professor and Choreographer Juan Miguel Mas uses the hefty volume of its dancers with an aesthetic purpose that gives heavyset people the possibility to express and develop their self-esteem. Through this new proposed body, they find a different kind of harmony and in the process bestow the audience with an alternative aesthetic. Their sweat, technique and talent, though far from conventional ballet, are also a beautiful and professional way of artistic expression.


La compania de Danza Voluminosa dirigida por el profesor y coreopgrafo Juan Miguel Mas,utiliza el volumen del cuerpo con un fin estetico, dando la posibilidad de expresar y desarrollar el crecimiento humano de las personas obesas, tratando de reorganizar ese nuevo cuerpo propuesto, de encontrar armonia y provocar el espectador desde una nueva estetica no convencional, mostrando con sudor, technica y talento que ellos tambien pueden realizar un hermoso y profesional aunque nada convencional ballet.
