Daniel Biléu is a self-taught artist who lives and works in Rio de Janeiro. He does not follow any tendencies and his fondness for the 80's post-punk aesthetics, the underground comics’ world and the Role Playing Games has made his art to be described as of “fantasy” or “alternative”. He prefers to be seen as a creator of clusters of suggestive shapes, curves, spirals and linking lines that form a delicate universe of compounding symbols with movement on its own, offering many different readings and interpretation of his works, which are deep in their concept and always incensed by a mysterious aura.

He has studied Art History, Contemporary Art and the interaction of art and technology but continues researching as an imposition to the evolution of his own work.

His works' themes range from the fantastic worlds and creatures to the bizarre, metaphoric situations, characters and sites, passing through the sensual erotic scenes, putting order into complexity, translating his inner chaos.

Biléu's work is influenced by Art Nouveau and Art Deco movements as by some old masters of figurative painting like Modigliani, Gustav Klimt and Egon Schile.

One could also find much of the ancient indigenous art, like the Maori (Polynesian) and the Marajoara (Brazilian). This blend creates a sophisticated, elegant yet strong and unique art style.
