First thing: My favorite camera of the moment is my iPhone. It's always with me and has saved me from moments of boredom so many times that I have that developed a deep and abiding affection for it. I consider it one of my cameras (I'm totally addicted to photo apps).

Second thing: I don't consider myself a photographer - I don't have the training and I'm not really interested in all the technical "stuff" at this moment in time. I just picked up may camera and starting taking photographs. In the beginning, most of them were just so-so and then I started paying attention to composition and light and focus and developed my technique. That's when things started to change and my I have been told "I have an eye for" and I don't disagree. I do rely on post-photo processing. Some people use chemicals and paper - I use the computer and I'm alright with that. What I do consider myself is an "Image Creator/Moment Capturer".

None of this would have happened had it not been for my husband. Without him I would not have found this creative outlet. You see, a couple of years ago my husband gave me a digital camera for Christmas that I could take with me when I walked the dog. There are lots of lovely gardens in our neighborhood and I wanted to have a camera along with me in case there were any ideas I wanted to steal/incorporate in my own garden. My powers of description are not what they used to be (and my memory for that matter) it was just helpful to have a camera along instead of trying to describe a garden and saved me from having to remember where that garden was (I take meandering walks and am often times distracted by my canine companion) and having a camera along made it that much simpler for me to get my message across.

So, here I am several years later with all these photographs that I get to share with people who are actually interested in looking at them. Thank you for all your views, comments and for all those photographs that you "favorited" or included in a gallery. You don't know how much you are appreciated.

Lastly, after all is said and done I've only taken my camera with me on a few of my walks. The dog hates it. Hates that I stop and spend an inordinate amount of time in one place. Walks are for walking! The only other living creature that is worse to bring along on my photo safaris is my husband - he can vocalize his impatience where as the dog is resigned to suffer. You can't have it all, right?
