I've always had an interest in photography and nature, particularly insects, although only seriously started treating the latter as serious photographic candidates in 2010.

I am self-taught in photography and find the challenge of close-up work particularly satisfying and find this field of photography is forever presenting new opportunities and is a superb learning experience.

I've tried a few different setups for close-up work but my favoured has to be the zoom reversed lens I've been working with recently. It allows magnifications around 1:1 at one end of the zoom down to a magnification comparable to that of a dissection microscope.
