I am a Burlington, Ontario-based outdoor photographer (Cycroft Photography), political blogger ( Russ Campbell's Blog) and a wannabe naturalist… hakuna matata.

I shoot with a Nikon D300 digital SLR and any of Nikkor 10-24mm zoom, Nikkor 70-200mm VR f/2.8 zoom or a Nikkor 300mm f/2.8 prime. For distant birds, I sometimes use a teleconverter: Kenko Teleplus Pro 300 1.4x, Nikon 1.7x TC-17E II or Nikon 2x TC-20E III. And, for low-light situations, I use a 50mm f/1.8 prime. My backup is a Nikon D50 DSLR with an 18-200mm VR zoom.

For printing snapshots I use a 4x6" Canon Selphy and for large prints, I use an Epson R1800.

I shoot in RAW format and process/catalog my images in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom on a dual-display Windows 7 PC. For creative work I use Adobe Photoshop CS5.

See here for a full list of my photo-related gear.

I like to keep my contact and group lists at manageable numbers so I can interact with their members. And I do not add/keep contacts who do not have informative profiles—I like to know with whom I'm interacting—or who do not interact with me from time to time.

Also, I don't usually respond to "invite only" invitations to post to groups. I prefer moderated or open groups.

I do very much appreciate constructive criticism of my images and look forward to hearing from you.
