My goal as a photographer is not to make money, become famous, or take the best photo you've ever seen (not that I'd mind that). My goal is to share - not only my photos, but my inspirations - and even how I edit all of my photos. I struggled a lot when I first started getting into photography, and I want to help other people who are just starting off, which is why I started iffles.com. I don't think I'm a wonderful photographer, nor do I think I'm the best at editing photos, but I'm always willing to share everything I do, even my mistakes, which is one reason that all of my photos include the steps I took to edit the photo in the description. If you ever have any questions (or want to see the original photo for comparison), please ask.

Also, if you added me as a contact, I'll add you, too, as long as you actually have photos in your stream. I do, however, have a lot of contacts. I don't ever manage to see all the photos from everyone, but I will TRY. I promise!

Because people wonder about these things: "yoshi", as you might be able to tell from my photostream, is my favorite Nintendo character. "iffles" is John's nickname for me. So. Yoshiffles, it is.

I'm 34 years old (Yes. I'm really 34. Yes, I know I look like I'm 23.) and live with my boyfriend (John - he really IS only 28) and two cats (Myles and Maia) in my beautiful house that was built in 1927.

In 2008, I successfully finished a 366 Project where I took a self portrait every day for the year.

In 2009, I quit an open-topic 365 but did go on 52 photowalks in one year.

In 2010, I'm did a 52 Self Portraits project, and another 52 photowalks (I think I failed at both. Oops!). I also led and participated in a monthly themes project - one them every month for 12 months at this group!

I didn't really do any projects in 2011, but I'm starting a 366 in 2012 - I figure I'd make it a leap year thing - why not???

I created and maintain (sometimes) the website iffles.com - phototalk for the rest of us. It's a website for beginner photographers with everything written in plain english for all of us to understand. Because I'm a big fan of the free editing software The Gimp, it contains a lot of tutorials on how to use it. I also, at one point, wrote for digital photography school.

My gear: Canon 5DMkII (previously used a Rebel XTi (400D)), 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM (used previously on the Rebel, still haven't gotten rid of it... just in case!), 50mm f/1.8, 24-105mm f/4L (most often used lens), 100mm f/2.8L Macro
