ABOUT THE CURRAN FOUNDATION
The Paul and Elizabeth Curran Foundation was established in 1984 with the objective of providing a perpetual source of funding to foster advances and excellence in patient care, education and research on the St Vincent’s Hospital Campus in Darlinghurst, Sydney.
The institutions on the Campus – St Vincent’s Hospital, St Vincent’s Private Hospital and the Garvan Institute of Medical Research – have been responsible for many of the surgical and research breakthroughs in Australia while at the same time addressing the health needs of the underprivileged and marginalised in the local inner city community.
The achievements of St Vincent’s and the Garvan can be credited to the many brilliant minds who have worked there and the spirit of compassion that is the legacy of the founding Sisters of Charity, however, many of these successes may never have been realised had it not been for community support and philanthropy.
The Curran Foundation is proud to have provided over $10 million in grants to the Campus for vital equipment, research programs, clinical education initiatives and facilities that improve patient comfort while in hospital.
