Born in Mérida, Venezuela. Tour leader and wildlife tour guide operator for more than 20 years. Roger has early studies in biology and later worked in the Mérida Zoo. He is an outstanding wildlife artist and excellent photographer (with awards in these two disciplines). He’s work includes the participation in four TV documentaries, several articles in local newspapers and a book for children about biodiversity of the Andean region. Occasionally he is invited to do outdoor talks. Because of these attributes Roger is considered a true naturalist. He is dedicated full time to birds, but also trained in other zoological groups. He is recommended as a bird-guide in all the editions of Birding in Venezuela (since 1991). Special mention about him as a wildlife expert and bird-watching guide is available in the South American Handbook, Venezuelan Handbook Travel Guide, Lonely Planet and Venezuela Footprint (several editions since 2,000). Three species of butterflies and one species of frog have been dedicated to his name. He is one of the founders of the Venezuelan Waterfowl Foundation. Roger speaks English and Spanish and is full of enthusiasm to show you the Venezuela's nature marvels. He is founding member of Fundación Andigena and proud to work for well stablished travel operators like Cacao Travel Group, Caiman Tours, Arassari Trek, Condor Verde and partner of Chal Tours in Venezuela.
