I began shooting seriously in 2008 photographing primarily birds, a natural progression of a life long hobby of birding. I have gradually expanded my subjects as I become more aware of the world around me and the endless possibilities that exist for photographing life. For me It doesn't get much better than spending a week in Yellowstone National Park shooting a wide variety of wildlife and beautiful landscape. Travelling in Europe I have found extraordinary photo opportunities including unique streetscapes, centuries old buildings and cathedrals. It is always challenging, as I push myself to see through the lens and to tell a story in a picture or to capture a special moment.

I appreciate the interaction that is possible through Flickr as the community lets me know what worked and what didn't.

I shoot with a Nikon D3S with a Nikon D300S as a backup. My primary lenses for wildlife are the Nikkor 600 f/4 VRII and Nikkor 300 F2.8 VRII. I also use the Nikkor 70-200 F2.8 VRII. I also carry Nikon 2.0 and 1.4 teleconverters. For landscape and wider shots I use the Nikkor 24-70 F2.8 and Nikkor 14-24 F2.8. I support my camera and lens with a Manfrotto 055CXPRO3 tripod. For the 300 and 600 lenses I use a Jobu BWG gimbal head.
