Crafty Dogma's photostream  

I live in Sydney with my hubby and two labradoodles. I like collages, sewing, TtV photography, plastic penguins and vintage stuff (all sorts but especially postcards and Victorian photos). I like the colour red. I don't watch TV. My favourite fruit is the mango. I tried minimalism for a while but it made me very unhappy.

My collages
I have been making collages for about 10 years. I always use vintage images and I'm especially fond of medical and scientific imagery with some kids' stuff thrown in. I like my collages to tell a story, which sometimes isn't obvious to anyone else.

My photo collection
I have recently acquired an excellent scanner and have started to slowly share my photo and postcard collection here on flickr. I bought my first photo (of the Sydney Harbour Bridge) when I was 13. It was tucked into a postcard album with a bunch of early 1900s postcards. The whole lot cost me $5 which at the time was basically all my savings in the world. My favourite things to collect are tintypes, negatives and postcards from early 1900s. I rarely buy colour photos unless they are hand-tinted.

My photography
I do a lot of TtV (through the viewfinder) photography using a combination of a digital SLR camera and a vintage TLR camera. I have many of the latter but my personal favourite is the Kodak Duaflex. I also do analogue photography. I'm not very good at it but I really enjoy it and it makes a nice change from carrying a lot of TtV equipment around. I have a preference for vintage-style processing in my photos.

My sewing
I go through phases when I do a lot of sewing. Most of my sewing involves making clothes though I have made quilts, soft toys and handbags in the past. I have a preference for Japanese styling.
