I'm new to Flickr (late 2005), but am enjoying the variety of superb learning opportunities presented here - what an addictive place this is!

Inspired by my mother who used to work as a photographer taking some super B&W shots, and some other artistic members of the family, I picked up a small but effective camera in earnest in about '97. Converted mostly to digital in about 2001. Logged onto Flickr late 2005.

Keen to take more pictures but family and job eclipse my time right now.. will try and post one or two a month.

I was tagged with the name Coxy by some 'friends', but I don't believe there is an explanation. By the way, the dog I use as an icon is a dodgy photo I, er, took in a Rodrigue gallery in New Orleans. I like the contrast of the bright colours with the sad expression in this particular George Rodrigue Blue Dog picture, but it also shows my favourite colour contrast: Blue vs. Red.
