I prefer to think of myself as a work in progress, & thus, generally like to avoid simple, static self-categorization. If, as the cliche goes, "perception is reality," then it's also a great responsibility, and the ultimate self-fulfilling prophecy. However, I think that this catchphrase is rather limited in its vision of the self. While you might be able to convince others of who you are or are not, or they might independently form their own opinions of your identity -- true or untrue, this induced noise of "perception" that floats around you is ultimately a distraction from the search for your true purpose, and should be ignored whenever possible. Atleast that’s been my experience thus far. And it’ll probably make you a whole lot happier in the process.
The danger in believing too much in the idea of “perception = reality” is that it then becomes all too easy to be in tacit compliance with others' limited visions (and understanding) of ourselves, or to accept this statement as a passive force in our lives, instead of being one of self-determination. The power for self-creation should be consciously employed, and not thoughtlessly given away.
In reality, perception is but a small window into who we actually are, or are even capable of being. The word perception should really be replaced by a more positive and inner-directed word, “visualization.”
That being said, here’s how I envision my current “roles”: Runner, running coach, writer, entrepreneur, techie, designer & all-around artist, animal lover, avid film buff, musician, composer, philosopher, world-traveler, unconventional thinker. (There are many others I could add, but that'd just take up way too much space & time.)
I have a deep love of languages and world cultures, and therefore not surprisingly speak several languages, some more fluently than others.
At heart, I’m an explorer and a trailblazer. I seek knowledge, balance, self-mastery, and the delight of new experiences.
I believe in the importance of creative expression as not only a way of bringing beauty into the world and enhancing the quality and meaning of our lives, but also as a way to be connected to our better natures as human beings.
The world needs more people who are constructive, empathetic creative forces. There are already enough destroyers out there. It’s time we teach them all how to create!

"I don't know cyberpenguin either but it's easy to tell that's she's both a perfectionist and a workaholic. Her pictures show a great deal about her personality. She loves beautiful things and is a true "people person" in every sense of the word. She is a person who has such a wide variety of interests that she seldom, if ever, sits still. The world would be a much better place if there were more like her. It's a sure bet that she's smarter than me....."

"I don't know cyberpenguin but his presentation make me think to the philosopher Krishnamurti. A deep thinker about perceptions of reality."
