"I stumbled on to her work last summer while poring over the work of thousands of photographers on flickr. There is something so unique about the way she composes the everyday that blows me away (other than the fact that there are a lot of gams thrown in). Watching her put together a stream is like reading a glossy magazine with a story behind it, even though I often have no idea what that story is. I just know someone often gets a little lost in a pool, beach or shower stall, and there are lots of phones, people and drinking involved on the way home."

"Though the scenes are universally familiar, there is no redundancy or staleness about Cookie's photos, but rather, they only become more and more alive with each push of her gifted finger and continue to remain vividly fresh no matter how often returned to. Each time I catch her in a moment of self-portraited reflection I can't help wondering what exactly it is on her mind, or when finding her at yet another party, just wish I were invited. I can't wait to fit her first book in on my shelf, somewhere between Arbus and...Eggleston, it looks like from here. Though having met her only once, long ago, I will consider it an honor, always.
