Born - Year Of The Monkey.
Life is very short.
Please don't take my images and use them on the internet claiming them to be your own work!
"I am very happy that you come to visit my pictures. However I have seen far too many cheap copies of my pictures uploaded on this and other social networks. Please understand that true art is personal discovery and one’s own internal thoughts and reactions to the world projected in one’s own individual way which I encourage you to delve and search for within yourself. Good luck in this respect." Edward Olive.
Please do not post any awards, flashing lights/icons in the comment section of my images as I will delete them. I do not intend to be offensive or rude it is just that I do not like them!

FAVOURITE QUOTES
"Your first 10,000 photographs are your worst."
H. Cartier-Bresson
"If your pictures aren't good enough, you aren't close enough."
Robert Capa
"He who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead, his eyes are closed."
Albert Einstein.
"Don't get set into one form, adapt it and build your own, and let it grow, be like water."
Bruce Lee
"Great works are performed not by strength, but by perseverance."
Samuel Johnson
"The force of a photograph is that it keeps open to scrutiny instants which the normal flow of time immediately replaces. It would not be wrong to speak of people having a compulsion to photograph: to turn experience itself into a way of seeing."
Susan Sontag from On Photography.

Eve Stroud says:
"One of the most interesting aspects of photography is the great ongoing enthsiasm of the photographer. Tim has that in spades. Also his love of sharing his interest with everyone. And his "go for it"advice given with an equal enthusiasm and warmth to everyone who may be just starting . And , of course, his very special photography."

Kees van Mansom says:
"When it comes to close and personal street portraits, there is no one in my contact list that succeeds better in it then Tim (Laird of Glencairn).
His photostream offers many interesting photos, but his street portraits are spectacular: they give us a very close, intimate view on his surroundings. These are not the average street photos, taken from a safe distance, these photos are taken at an unbelievable close range. His photos are pure and show us also how people react when they are photographed from such a close distance. Sometimes it is a smile, sometimes they seem to ignore him, but there are also a couple of photos I will never forget because of the angry or agressive look of the person photographed. And this is what photography is all about: capturing emotions and scenes. I am looking forward to his next upload!"4th August, 2009

CliffDotMac says:
"Whether its film based photography, or digital. The Laird of Glencairn embraces it with a passion. He enjoys nothing better than shooting interesting characters on the street, and squeezes in the odd urbex too.
Oh and the bugger owns a Hasselblad!"25th August, 2008
