I got my first digital SLR back in 2005, but its only more recently that I've really tried to move beyond taking pretty pictures when on vacation.

You can check out some of my favorite shots here. My main niche would probably be urban exploration photography; my interest there isn't particularly profound, abandoned sites just can make for pretty cool pictures. Techniques I've been playing with lately include lightbox and hdr.

My main goals right now are to improve the intimacy, spontaneity, and warmth of my photos. I'm usually pretty unhappy with my pictures of, say... people... so I'd like to work on that. ;)

If I've added you as a contact, something about your work has inspired me and I'd like to keep track of your work and see what else you'll produce. Don't feel an obligation to reciprocate (although if you like my stuff, it is of course appreciated...)

Cameras

Nikon D90
- Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 VR - walking around lens
- Nikon 35mm f/1.8 - crisp and fast
- Tokina 11-16mm f/2.6 - crisp and wide

Canon SD870IS - point-and-shoot for when I can't be bothered to lug the DSLR
iPhone 4 - for when I can't be bothered to lug the point-and-shoot

Until Oct 2009 I used a Canon Rebel XT with 18-55mm, 18-200mm, and 35mm f/2.0 lenses. Er, and occasionally rented nicer lenses (usually for trips to the zoo...) Also went through a Canon SD200 and travelled with my first digital, a dinky but lovable Minolta DiMAGE E323 (those shots predated my appearance on Flickr). Before that, assorted film point-and-shoots that I may or may not still have somewhere in various states of disrepair, but, now that I think about it, I'm somewhat curious about...

Software

Generally take everything raw and then tweak with Lightroom. Most photos are tweaked at least a bit (contrast, saturation, etc), and I'll alter the look quite a bit if needed although I'm lately trying to keep more consistency within a set. HDR work is done with Photomatix.
