My flickr account was originally set up to support a blog of mostly photos. My account name "coastal eddy" was a joke a friend of mine initiated from an off shore weather phenomena in Southern California of that name. Somehow it has crossed over to flickr.
My photos can be sometimes what I describe as shoot and run. Photography for me is not only capturing a fine image but it is also a record of my journey(s) on this planet.... the good, the bad and the ugly! Hopefully more of "the good" than the other two. But I am passionate about photography and always learning. I carry a camera most everywhere and can get somewhat off beat. My work takes me to some far away places for which I am grateful. I call the Methow Valley in Washington my real home but I spend more time in other places it seems. For the last 13 years it has been about five months a year in Greenland . I have spent over 5 years of my life in Antarctica since 1993 including two winters... that is my excuse for being strange! How about stints in DC or La Jolla thrown in the mix as well. It is always good to be home!
