Coastal Forces (1940–1957)

Coastal Forces was a branch of the Royal Navy formed in late 1940 during the early period of the Second World War. It fought in coastal waters around the British Isles, the Mediterranean, Aegean, and Adriatic seas, and along the coasts of Africa, India, and the Far East.

Coastal Forces personnel numbered some 30,000 at its peak, and manned high-speed Motor Gunboats & Motor Torpedo Boats, Motor Launches and Harbour Defence Motor Launches.
