Dani has an extensive dance background including Tango, Tap, Lindy Hop (Jitterbug), Swing, Jive and Character – covering 28 years.
A full member of British Actors’ Equity, Dani has considerable experience in cabaret, dance revue shows and on the musical stage (in 1987 taking on the role of ‘Riff’ in ‘West Side Story’, to an acclaimed review– to name but one of the many stage musicals in which he has featured – at the Royal Lyceum Theatre, Edinburgh). His sporting interests include karate (in which he holds rank of 4th Dan Black Belt, and has practiced for 34 years, and instructed for 16 years), which has seen his participation in two World Championships in Tokyo and six European Championships. His expertise in karate has helped considerably with his dance, activating a profound insight into body movement, poise, fluidity, balance, timing and coordination.
Dani has been practicing Tango for 9 years and has visited Buenos Aires seven times (5x for the Fabian Salas CITA / 2x for Gustavo Naveira's excellent tango seminars). He has danced and taken workshops/lessons in numerous other worldwide locations, and with many of the world's leading tango exponents/teachers, including Fabian Salas, Gustavo Naveira, Melina Brufman, Eduardo Capussi y Mariana Flores, Pablo Veron, Julio Balmaceda and Corina de la Rosa, Zoraida Fontclara and Diego Alvaro, Roberto Reis, Carina Losano (choreographer to Madonna in ‘Evita’)… amongst many others.
Dani also went through (with his then partner) to the second round in last year's (2005’s) auditions for the BBC TV series ‘Strictly Dance Fever’.
