Beginning mid-June 2009 I will be in Nepal for what I hope will be a full year. My girl Catherine and I will be in the northern Humla district of northwestern Nepal where Catherine will be conducting her dissertation research in anthropology and I'll be taking photos. Except for a few brief stints in Kathmandu we will be off the grid and out of touch. I hope I have a couple decent photos to show you all when we return to the US.

I need a camera
To my eye
To my eye, reminding
Which lies I've been hiding
Which echoes belong

    The River Thief says:

"Why has it taken me so long to write a testimonial for Chris? He was one of the first photographers pointed out to me on flickr, and from the moment I saw one of his images, I knew he was the real thing.

He'll probably go into his 'aw shucks, you're too kind, ma'am' routine at this statement - but I want it on the record that I knew him (virtually) when. (As in, when you could still afford to buy one of his prints ;)."

    Bobby Alcott says:

"When one's love can truly and authentically accelerate through his expression and into your soul, it simply must be treasured - to miss it is a crime. From the first moment I saw Chris' work, I knew that he was one of those people, and this work was THAT work.

I've respected, admired and thrown fits of jealousy over this stuff. There is not a single photostream I would rather wrap myself in than Chris'.

I thank him for sharing his soul with me.

    You should, too."

    Lorrie McClanahan says:

"Chris Lombardi's photos communicate in a Zen-like way. His often spare yet technically perfect images tell us this is someone who sees beyond subject matter into a deeper truth. Whether we're presented with an icy glacier or African veldt, a laughing toddler or quiet self portrait, Chris' photos reveal the universal within a unique, yet varied style. Pure bliss, that."
