I live in the woods on a lake in Downeast Maine where in the winter the reverberations of growing ice looms ubiquitous over the death like silence of subzero. In my opinion, there's no other sound like it on this telluric rock. You can hear for miles over frozen ground. Sometimes there are small and resonant voices, owls, loons and coyotes, voices that seem to carry for miles with no other purpose than to stop a conversation. And when other things grow, the sound of nighthawks, peepers and wood frogs can etherise the most indomitable minds. It's my opinion that life with bonfires, luna moths and meteors is a choice not serendipity. It's also my opinion that any life where what's fleeting lingers just long enough to leave the residue of awe before dissipating to threads of memory provide lots of material to sew great stories.

Images represented here are not altered or manipulated as to color, scene or composition unless stated. Some post processing is used in cases of color originals made greyscale and negative scans that require cleaning, but otherwise these pictures are not altered to misrepresent nature as something other than what was seen through the lens.. Not because I believe such images are less appealing or have any less aesthetic value, but because to me misrepresenting the sensuous nature of the living word is an interpretation that more closely represents the mind of man than nature itself.. Hope you enjoy these for what they represent.

"I know Rob's work is amazing and beautiful...I also know that in the not so distant past that it wasn't being shared nearly enough...it doesn't help that he lives off the beaten path...to put it mildly.

Rob has this very special ability to put words and visuals into a dream...to capture something, a feeling or thought, previously thought unexplainable or unattainable.

So nice to see you getting the attention your work deserves..."
