Phil here from the City and County of Bristol which please note is not a new unitary authority of a couple of decades standing but a County dating back to 1373. It is not in Gloucestershire nor in Somerset.

I work for the NHS. I am from the blue side of the city and some of my pics can be related to trips away to watch Bristol Rovers (and hence need their dates changing before posting to gwuk.).

I have a brilliant sense of direction (I am told) and a very visual brain which links placenames with pictures. It doesn't work very well with scenery and hardly at all for faces, hence I am bad at quizzes where the picture round is famous people. The brain contains a lot of trivia too, but retains nothing from the pages of Hello and the like. A few gigabytes of memory though got us maximum points in a round last year on the Eurovision Song Contest, and a long trip in the car will see the iPod usually random-select at least one old ESC song from the past.

I can spend hours watching waterfalls, and dream on retirement on seeing some of the great cascades of the world but probably won't do it hence adding to a small but growing list of regrets as I get older!

I like food and I am quite adventurous, but am at my happiest with good fish and chips, egg and bacon/gammon, or a fine curry (but not all on the same plate) - as we say here in Brizzle - gert lush! I also have a very good sense of humour, dare I suggest at times a bit warped?

Did I also say I have a passion for church architecture?.
