I am intrigued with society’s perceptions of beauty and the play between inner and outer beauty. I think that people struggle to be confident with their inner beauty and individuality because so much emphasis today is placed on outer beauty.

I am inspired by intricate patterning, surface texture and ornate designs of Victorian wall paper. Much of my inspiration comes from lace; its complexity, interwoven and knotted structure is representational of all the experiences and hardships we go through, woven into something beautiful which without them would be loose threads.
