Grain Elevator, Buffalo NY by Christina Laing

I love Buffalo more than words can express. I am an architectural photographer, but first and foremost, I am an artist. My entire world revolves around photography and art. As Richard Avedon once said, "If a day goes by without my doing something related to photography, it's as though I've neglected something essential to my existence, as though I had forgotten to wake up." I graduated from Buffalo State College in December 2010 with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Photography, and a minor in Art History. I spent the summer of 2010 in New York City studying at the International Center of Photography. During my time at both of these institutions, I have grown immensely as a person, as a photographer, and as an artist.

My camera is an extension of myself. Through my camera I see, simply, the people and places that I love. As I photograph the things that mean so much to me, I learn more and more about who I am, where I come from, and who I hope to become.
