I was born in Venezuela. My parents are both immigrants, my mother from Santiago, Chile and my my father from Palma de Mallorca, Spain, although he became a Venezuelan citizen early on.

I have a sister, Karen, 10 years younger who was also born in Venezuela and still lives there. She studies Business Administration in the Universidad Metropolitana and has a boyfriend of 6 years, Nicos who studies Systems Engineering in the same university.

I also have one living grandmother, from my mother's side, who we call Meme . She is 93 and lives in Venezuela.

I studied in Colegio San Ignacio and then in the Universidad Metropolitana where I graduated from Business Administration.

My career began in banking but after the 1994 banking crisis in Venezuela, I ended up working for El Universal, Venezuela's most respected newspaper.
My career took a sudden turn when in 1995 I took the lead of the newspaper's online efforts until 2001 when I moved to the US to pursue investment opportunities for the group.

I got married in 2001 with Elizabeth and we have a daughter and a son.

Elizabeth is an Architect from the Universidad Central de Venezuela with a Masters in Architecture from Georgia Tech.

In 2003 I did an MBA at Duke University.

I'm currently a Consultant for Innovation Media Consulting Group, an international consulting firm specialized in Media.

We currently live in Atlanta, GA.

We have a female yellow Labrador Retriever called Araya, who was born in Venezuela.
