Mainly interested in nature. I was a keen birder for 20 years, and now settled to a quieter existence. I still travel to see extremely rare birds, first for Britain etc.
Increasingly, I am interested in dragonflies and butterflies,
which gets me out on the nicer days.

I also have a set of Jessops extension tubes for closer macro work.
I use a Manfrotto 679B monopod or Slik D2 tripod for image stabilising
For macro work, I use a Canon Speedlight 550EX flash
A flash sync cord, and some cheap wireless triggers, allows off-camera 'strobist' flash

A Canon EOS 5 film camera is now sitting by my desk and willing to work.

Total spent (including trading losses) on SLR kit £2500, mostly on e-bay.

Also, I have a Nikon Coolpix 995 for digi-scoping and macro and walkabout.

I have also used phone-scoping to reasonable effect when faced with rare birds and no other camera to hand
