I live in Kinlochbervie, in the North West of Sutherland, Scotland. I moved here in December 2008. Previously, I lived in Lochmaddy on the Isle of North Uist for 10 years. I do miss it, mostly the people there, but Kinlochbervie is growing on me, and my pet family has grown since living so much closer to a pet shop!!! I'm 'addicted' to animals. I much prefer animals over people. I tend to avoid people and I'm happiest surrounded by animals, especially if I have my camera with me. I really hope to get into Professional Pet Photography sometime in the near future.

My Dad bought our first family digital camera in 2001 (I think), and I used it a lot. I got my first 'own' camera, Kodak C875, in 2007, and have been hooked since. I got my first DSLR, a Nikon D40 in May 2008, then my second, a Nikon D5000 in May 2009. I love them both. I'm ashamed to say I haven't really gotten past the 'Auto' setting on either of them. I hate reading manuals! However if I want to do photography I have to read, and currently have a pile of books and dvd guides piled up on my desk. I will read them - promise!

I mostly take photos of pets and animals, they are my favourite subjects, although I do love taking land and sea scapes too.
