The American Red Cross of Greater Chicago serves more than 8.3 million people within the seven county Greater Chicago community that includes Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry and Will counties.
The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.
At the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago, there are 3,000 active volunteers working day and night throughout northeastern Illinois. Do you want to volunteer, but you’re not sure how to get started? There is no shortage of ways you can make a difference in the lives of people who need it most.
