what is a kinotrope?

a kinotrope was an engine in a novel called "the difference engine" (gibson/sterling). it was a device that was used to project images created from many pressed cards. it was often used as an aid to performance or public speaches. in my mind it was the fictional precursor to cinema; a visual aid for telling stories.

    aeronavigatrix says:

"Cherry's photos are what inspired me to finally purchase a camera and try to learn taking pictures. Her photos always hold stories, and often I feel like they're stills from a film that has been paused. All your senses are stimulated when looking at her photos, not just sight.
One day I hope I get to be featured in her wonderful work again, it's definately an honour."
