As regards photography I would place myself in the category of a rank amateur. I love the freedom that a bog standard compact digital gives me to play about with photos. It is surprising what you can do 'by accident'. On the quiet I lust after a digital SLR but have difficulty justifying the expense... I find tons of inspiration in others' photography.
