My name is Charlie Middleton. I live in Lubbock, Texas, and have for my entire life. Growing up in West Texas, I have had the opportunity to get to know a lot of farmers and ranchers in this area. I grew up visiting big ranches like the 6666 Ranch, Spade Ranch and the Matador Ranch.

My grandad farmed and ranched this country, along with ranch real estate. He had a small commercial cattle feedyard operation at one time, and owned and leased ranchland all over West Texas. My family has a ranch in Dickens, we call it the Haystack Mountain Ranch. The ranch was once a part of the famous Guitar Ranch and joins the historic Spur Headquarters Ranch.

I work with my dad, and I am proud to be the fourth generation in our company. My great grandfather, Charles Middleton, started Chas. S. Middleton and Son in 1920. We sell farm and ranch properties in Texas and New Mexico. Primarily, we sell recreation and hunting ranch properties. Land prices throughout much of the state have influenced investors over the last several years, and several of our customers have taken advantage of this. Prices have generally been driven mostly by excellent bobwhite quail and whitetail deer hunting through this region. Growth in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area, Houston, Austin and other major metropolitan areas of Texas have driven our business over the last eight to ten years.
