Parker Palmer once wrote something to the extent that some people don't choose teaching, it chooses them. That's me, I'm an educator. In or out of the classroom, I'm all about learning.

So why the name "change-man"? To start, learning implies change, not the mere acquisition of information. And as I sought to influence/teach others, as well as grow myself, I realized that I couldn't just present facts hoping they would be their own catalyst. Instead, I have studied change as a process, how to initiate it and break the inertia, how to maintain momentum, and even how to ascertain an individual's readiness for change...and I'm hooked. Did you know for instance that the average New Year's Resolution needs to be made 5x in a row for it to stick. We don't change very easily. But, we can be helped, and we can help ourselves as well.

If you can't tell, in some ways, I'm a change-evangelist. I talk about it and think about it all the time. But "change-man" sounded a little better so I'm going with that one.
