I am now retired and enjoying life to the full...
I have been a keen amateur photographer since I was in my teens (Now have my Free Bus Pass). With the advent of Digital Photography I have found a new enjoyment to the hobby and in 2000 I joined a Postal Photographic Group which is part of Colour Circles, called Circle 2000.
In September 2006 I joined the Flickr community and made a lot of good friends in a few days. I have a selection of Digital cameras from DSLR's to Compacts and always have a small Nikon compact with me 'just in case' !
My cameras at this time (2011) are as follows:
Canon 550D
Canon 40D
Canon G10
Nikon L18
Both DSLR's have battery grips made by Hahnel and also Hahnel remote triggers.
Lenses - mostly Canon 'L' series and some Sigma and Tokina covering 12mm to 400mm range.
I am an Admin for quite a few groups, the best known being:
Flickrs Best.
The others are: *Photosworld* The World In Photographs ~ Monthly Theme Group ~ *Artistic* Photosworld ~ Gas And Steam Engines ~ New Forest National Park ~ Impressive Images ~ Extraordinary Images ~ Flickrs Best Four Fav's and The Best Of Flickrs Best.
I have now started a Flickr Colour Circles Group called Colour Circles 777 Group - which is by invitation only.
Please feel free to comment on any of my images.
You are free to download any you wish for 'Non Commercial' purposes, but please respect my Copyright and contact myself if you wish to use any for commercial perposes. Thanks.

"Chalkie is someone I like to call a freind. The support and encouragement he leaves in his comments are what Flickr should be all about. His work is fantastic, the colour in his pictures really makes them stand out and because he lives in the same area as me, I can relate to the photos he has taken and its nice to see things I see and have taken pictures of myself from a different view point.
Keep up the good work Chalkie, your one of the best."1st February, 2007

"Every person that is new to Flickr should be fortunate enough to be befriended by someone as wonderful as Chalkie. He has been a leader by example in the ways of the Flickr world. His comments can be well thought out and specific or just plain friendly and humorous-- what you would expect from a family member or friend.
Chalkie has the heart and the eye of a true master photographer. I especially love his landscapes and train "portraits." He often works at manipulating his images. When he does, he is very subtle. I am especially fond of his manipulations of sea and sky.
Thank you, Chalkie!"12th November, 2006

BlueMan. says:
"Chalkie aka Martin and I worked together in the same office for many years and forged a friendship based on a mutual hatred for one of the bosses. Chalkie joined the Colour Circle Photo Club that I am involved in and specialised in the new (well it was new then) digital image section. Within the group he has become the father figure for explaining technogarb to us Luddites. I invested in a Babel fish many years ago, so can understand some of his explainations. Being with Chalkie is a tonic for life. He is an amusing chap, with humourus stories and a kind heart. HIs photography constantly makes me laugh."

grah44 says:
"Chalkie has a very keen photographer's "seeing eye" and consistently produces excellent, original and innovative work both in colour and in B & W. In the digital "Colour Circles" (postal) print circe we both belong to, he is not afraid to submit "experimental" work, rather than submitting "safe" images that may generally be marked higher due to their mass appeal. Chalkie is a technical expert too, and is the person I always go to for technical advice / information."
