His comments can be well thought out and specific or just plain friendly and humorous-- what you would expect from a family member or friend.
  Chalkie has the heart and the eye of a true master photographer. I especially love his landscapes and train "portraits." He often works at manipulating his images. When he does, he is very subtle. I am especially fond of his manipulations of sea and sky.

  "Chalkie aka Martin and I worked together in the same office for many years and forged a friendship based on a mutual hatred for one of the bosses. Chalkie joined the Colour Circle Photo Club that I am involved in and specialised in the new (well it was new then) digital image section. Within the group he has become the father figure for explaining technogarb to us Luddites. I invested in a Babel fish many years ago, so can understand some of his explainations. Being with Chalkie is a tonic for life. He is an amusing chap, with humourus stories and a kind heart. HIs photography constantly makes me laugh."

In the digital "Colour Circles" (postal) print circe we both belong to, he is not afraid to submit "experimental" work, rather than submitting "safe" images that may generally be marked higher due to their mass appeal. Chalkie is a technical expert too, and is the person I always go to for technical advice / information."
